The historic farm itself dates back to 1693 and was originally named Leeuwenjagt, meaning “hunting lions”.
The heritage of Spice Route Destination goes back to the historical mariners who used to trade Eastern spices to Europe along the “Spice Route” for the spice trade in the 15th century.
Spice Route, as it is known today, was initiated in 1997 by the current owners.
Tastings are offered at 5 different venues and include; Spice Route Wines, Jewell’s Charcuterie (cured meat), CBC premium beer, Wilderer Spirits, and The Chocolate Room.
